I would like to introduce myself, Robert Castellan, owner - operator of Non-Slip St. Catharines / Niagara Falls and I have had the privilege of working with the Niagara Parks Commission and the Niagara Catholic District School Board to create a safe environment for all.
Due to the rising cost of liability insurance resulting from slip and fall injuries whether at the workplace or at home, Non-Slip works with you to achieve the desired results.
As every application is unique due to the varying types of floor surfaces, I have outlined below, important information to help you make the right choice when it comes to floor safety treatments.
If I can be of any assistance in helping you make the right choice to suit your specific needs, please feel free to contact me for a no obligation consultation.
MAKING THE DECISION
It is understandable to entertain several companies for quotes no matter what the services are. It is also important to understand the differences between the products and services that are provided by each.
To increase the co-efficient of friction (C.O.F.), Non-Slip uses a very controlled, exclusive process, for each type of floor surface which we treat. (e.g. Marble, Slate, Terrazzo, Ceramic/Porcelain/Quarry Tile). Prior to any application, the surface is pre-tested to ensure the mineral structures are enhanced without damaging the integrity or aesthetics of the floor surface!
Additionally, Non-Slip provides a Letter of Due Diligence, which indicates the C.O.F. readings before, during and after the application process. An American Standard static co-efficient of friction test meter is used to record these C.O.F. readings. This letter is also a testimonial that the treated areas meet or exceed the floor safety standard of 0.50.
As a decision maker, you now have documentation that you have taken the initiative to provide a safe environment for employees and patrons alike, and are committed to slip and fall prevention.
Non-Slip believes the best way to explain the difference between our competitors and pricing is to provide you, the consumer, with a brief description of our unique 3 step application procedure:
Step 1. Cleaning and Degreasing
Cleaning and degreasing of the floor and grout surface is the essential first step in achieving the desired co-efficient of friction and restoring the floor´s natural beauty before the "Slip Resistive Sealer" is applied.
important issue: The surface must be thoroughly rinsed using fresh water to remove any residues. The area is then vacuumed to remove debris and any remaining residues.
Step 2. Pre- Treatment
Non-Slip´s Pre-treatment is applied to the clean dry surface to allow maximum penetration of the Slip Resistive Sealer.
The area is completely rinsed, wet vacuumed and neutralized.
The area is rinsed again; wet vacuumed and allowed to dry completely.
Step 3. Application of the Slip Resistive Sealer "SRS"
Non-Slip´s "Slip Resistive Sealer" is applied to the prepared surface, and allowed to penetrate and dry naturally.
When dry, the area is thoroughly rinsed and vacuumed for the last time.
When the process is complete, a safe, clean, Slip Resistive environment has been created. This treatment is not a topical coating which will wear off, but a penetrating treatment which will last for years, guaranteed with a 4 year written warranty.
Benefits:
- Reduction in WSIB claims and work time losses.
- Reduction in Liability Insurance rates.
- Peace of Mind in regards to proven due diligence.
- A slip-resistant floor surface that is easily cleaned and maintained.
Other companies offer floor safety treatments in the form of acid etching, slip resistant mats, adhesive strips, to name a few.
1. Pure acid etching without sealing leaves the surface susceptible to stains, imbedded dirt and grime, resulting in a surface that is difficult to keep clean, and becomes slippery again with the grime build-up. Also, due to the fact that this process must be repeated on a continual basis, the floor becomes permanently damaged – increasing maintenance costs considerably!
2. Slip Resistant Mats – Very unsightly. Not only do they trap dirt and bacteria. but they wrinkle and fold over, creating a serious trip hazard themselves. Due to the fact that they must be replaced on a weekly basis, there is also a cost factor to be taken into consideration.
3. Adhesive strips peel off; are unsanitary; hard to clean; trap dirt, debris and bacteria. These too, must be replaced on a regular basis.
I sincerely hope the above information will help you make the job easier when it comes to making the right decision regarding floor safety issues.
Please feel free to contact me with regards to how Non-Slip St. Catharines / Niagara can help you with your floor safety concerns.
